PTSD RECOVERY TIP 1
If you are talking about your PTSD and someone makes you feel like, your recovery, trauma and PTSD is not important to them. It’s time to move on from that person. People who tell you, give you the eye rolls and express in actions that they are not willing to listen, be apart of the treatment, or are simply “tired.” Ar not worth it in your recovery. These are what you call toxic relationships, and during recovery we need people who are stable and positive. Not those who don’t want to hear it, be apart of it and are willing to help you out. This is a sign you need to start letting people go who aren’t willing to be apart of your cause.#Toxicrelationships#PTSD#Relationships#stability#Positive
Mental Health Tip: On PTSD
Let’s talk a little bit about why I have started to post these tips. I have been seeing a lot of people on and off the internet going through recovery and some are trying to recovery. Like me for instance. I see people ask questions like people are getting sick and tired of me talking about my PTSD. Or why are people getting sick and tired of me talking about my PTSD? So I wrote this tip to help others define health relationships.
PTSD RECOVERY TIP # 1: RELATIONSHIPS
If you are trying to talk to people about what’s going on with you and they have absolutely no interest, or makes you feel like your recovery, trauma, and/or PTSD are not important to them chances are they really don’t care about you. I’m sorry to be the barer of bad news but, this is the truth. You can’t keep telling yourself that you matter to them because, really in the end you’re only hearting yourself. I know I am blunt and honest but I’ve learned from my own mistakes by keeping people around, even though they really did not care.
Sometimes it’s obvious that this person/people simply do not support you and sometimes the signs are not there. If you get a feeling like you don’t matter, feel like they are tired or you feel like you are being ignored; then you need to walk away from the person/people. These relationships are toxic to you if you stay in them and could cause you more harm. Take it from me. I’ve spiralled so many times due to toxic relationship and then some.
Do not ignore the signs because, if you do, you will be spiralling to and that is not healthy for you. You need to do what’s best for you and also your recovery. Your recovery is sacred and you need to protect it from people who are not supportive, or are trying to hurt you.
Let go of those who do not simply want to be apart of your recovery. You will thank me in the end.
